Calgary Stampede
Stampede dates: July 4-13, 2008The "Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth" sure has
grown since Guy Weadick put on the very first Calgary Stampede in 1912.
This year's Stampede combines the rodeo competitions, agriculture exhibits,
commercial exhibits, midway rides, and some top music and entertainment. The
Stampede attracts over one million people every year.
The important times each day are: Rodeo begins at 1:30, the Chuckwagon races at 8:00, and the Fireworks at 10:45 pm.
For 2007, admission is $12 for adults ($6 on Sneak-a-Peak), and $6 for
seniors and children under 12.
Rush seats (unassigned seating or standing by the infield) this year are $12 for the Rodeo (youth $6) and $15 for the chuckwagon (youth $8). For the rodeo, the Rush seats are often the best, most imtimate view, but for Chuckwagon, you want to find yourself and empty seat high up for the best perspective.
