If you're wondering how to entertain the kids at the Stampede, fear not! The Stampede provides plenty of free entertainment, so you don't have to spend all the time at the Midway.

Buckaroos, a Great Place for Kids

New this year, in the Big Four Building, Main Level - Daily from 11:00 am - Midnight. A great place for you and your friends to hang? 50,000 square feet of interactive, in your face things to do, see and try out.

Superdogs

Catch the Superdogs at the Stampede Corral daily (July 5 - 115) at 1 pm, 4 pm and 7 pm (on Sneak a Peak they are only at 6 & 8 pm).

BMO Kids Zone

Located within Saddledome Lane, this new-for-2009 interactive area is filled with great activities for kids & families.

• Kids' Pedal Tractor Pull presented by BMO
  This favourite children’s attraction is for kids between 4 and 12 years. Children have a ball testing their skills at a John Deere Tractor Pull. This event is loaded with audience participation, education and down home fun.
  
  
• Kids' Team Penning Competition presented by BMO
  Check out the BMO Kids Zone in Saddledome Lane where teams of young cowboys and cowgirls between the ages of 5 and 10 test their team penning skills. This competition will teach children the basics penning and teamwork. It’s free, it’s fun and it’s back for 2009.
  
  
• Comic Relief presented by BMO
  Join us in the BMO Kids Zone of Saddledome Lane where families will capture the excitement of their visit to the Calgary Stampede as a comic book. Families will walk away with an 8x10 professional comic book page – starring them! Limit one comic per family.

Jaycee Park

Meet Dora - Children will love this special opportunity to meet Dora the Explorer, July 6 and 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m..

Meet Cookie Monster and Abby Cadabby - Their favourite friends from Sesame Street will be on hand to meet the children at the Calgary Stampede, July 9 and 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Midway

Outside, there are several rides for the kids along the midway. There are lots of rides in the main Midway that are suitable for older children. For the younger kids, there's a Kids Midway north of the Stampede Corral (towards Olympic Way & Downtown) with rides appropriate for smaller children.

To reduce the cost of the Midway, there are Family Packs of ride tickets at a (somewhat) discounted price. If you can plan ahead, your best bet is discounted tickets from Safeway, usually available in June.

Wednesday of Stampede is Kids Day with free early (before 9 am) admission to the grounds.

Tuesday is Teen Day and the evening offers unlimited rides on the Midway (but be prepared for long lines).
