The neighbourhoods of Aspen Woods and Springbank Hill lie between 17th Avenue and Richmond Rd, west of 69th Street. Once nothing but rural farmland, now rapidly becoming Calgary suburbs.
Schools
These are new neighbourhoods and do not have educational facilities. Students need to be bussed to these facilities:
Public board pupils go to Wildwood , Vincent Massey, and Ernest Manning High in Westgate.
Separate board students attend John Costello in Westgate, St. Michael Junior High , and either St. Mary's High downtown or Bishop Grandin High off Heritage Drive
Those seeking private schooling can do so in the community at the nearby Webber Academy and the Calgary Academy. Post secondary education is nearby at Mount Royal College.
Shopping
Shopping for the community is at Westhills Town Centre, to the southeast along Richmond Road (Highway #8) at Sarcee Trail.
Recreation
These communities are close to the Westside Recreation Centre
There is a 10 screen multiplex cinema in nearby West Hills Town Centre, and
two golf courses just west of the community, with several more further west along Highway 8.
Cross Country skiing and snowmobiling & 4-wheel driving are found a half hour west in Bragg Creek.
Homes
The homes in these neighbourhoods are Move-up and Executive/Estate homes. Homebuilders in Aspen Hills include Greenboro and Hawthorne, building single family and row townhomes with double attached garages. Homebuilders in Aspen include Morrison, Shane and Touchwood with estate homes starting at $700,000,
