This area lies along 17th Avenue SW and west of 85th Street. This area is still largely rural, but is attracting executive / estate homes on acreages. Some residential communities being built here include Spring Valley Estates, and Morgan's Rise.
Schools
Public board pupils go to Glamorgan Elementary and Glenbrook Elementary, A.E. Cross Junior High on 37th Street S.W., and Ernest Manning High off 17th Avenue S.W.
Separate board students attend St. Andrew Elementary in Glamorgan, St. Gregory Elementary/Junior High in Glendale Meadows, and either St. Mary's High downtown or Bishop Carroll High on Crowchild Trail.
Also in this area are the private Webber Academy and Calgary Academy schools.
Shopping
Sierra Square, a nine-store community strip mall is right at the entrance to Richmond Hill. West Hills Towne Centre is the area's big shopping centre, with lots of stores, restaurants, a 10-screen movieplex, a Safeway and a Revelstoke Home Centre. Signal Hill Shopping Centre, just north of West Hills will contain a Superstore, Zellers and the first library in the area.
Recreation
Two golf courses just west of the community, with several more further west along Highway 8. There is an outdoor running track at the nearby Webber Academy, and there are full indoor/outdoor athletic facilities at the nearby Westside Recreation Centre
There is a 10 screen multiplex cinema in nearby West Hills Town Centre.
Cross Country skiing and snowmobiling & 4-wheel driving are found a half hour west in Bragg Creek.
