Mount Pleasant, Rosemont, Tuxedo neighbourhoods

This community lies between 16th Avenue in the south and 40th Avenue in the north, between Centre Street and 14th Street NW. The Mount Pleasant community was developed starting around 1912 and has many older homes mixed with some newer homes. The community has three areas, Pleasant Heights, just north of SAIT, Mount Pleasant, just north of 20th Avenue, and North Mount Pleasant on the south side of Confederation Park. Rosemont is the hilly neighbourhood on the north side of Confederation Park, developed in the 1950s, and has lots of curvilinear streets. Balmoral is the community between Centre Street and 4th Street just north of 16th Avenue. Tuxedo Park is further up Centre Street and is mostly single family detached homes built in the 1920s.

Schools
The community is mature and has a full range of schools. There are 5 public elementary, one Catholic elementary and two public board high schools.

Shopping
There are a number of shopping plazas around the community, at Northmount & 14th, and along 4th Street and Centre Street. The nearest shopping mall is North Hill Centre, west of 14th Street.

Recreation
The areas recreation is focused around Confederation Park, with its creekside recreational pathways. These pathways connect to Nose Creek to the east, and from there to the Bow River pathway system. The community also has an outdoor pool and an indoor ice arena in Highwood Park.

Homes
The community is mostly single family homes, someover 50 years old, with some multi-unit condominiums along 32nd Ave NW, close to and along Centre St, and on the SW corner of 4th St & 40th Ave NW.
