The West Springs area is nestled in a bend in the Old Banff Coach Road, and north of Bow Trail. It lies immediately west of the television antenna at Broadcast Hill. There are several developments in this community, including West Spring Farms to the north, and Springside, further southwest.
Schools
Public board pupils go to Wildwood Elementary, Vincent Massey Junior High in Westgate, and Ernest Manning High off 17th Avenue S.W.
Separate board students attend St. Michael Elementary in Westgate, and either St. Mary's High downtown or Bishop Carroll High on Crowchild Trail.
Shopping

The closest shopping is at Strathcona Town Square on the hill, and Westgate further east on Bow Trail, or West Hills further south along Sarcee Trail at Richmond Road.
Recreation
The main park, off Sierra Morena Boulevard, which has both basketball and beach volleyball courts, and will eventually contain a public school, community centre, soccer fields, ball diamonds and a view park. The park is part of the north-south recreational pathway that runs through the community. Behind the park is Alred's Driving Range.
Homes
There is a 10 screen multiplex cinema in nearby West Hills Town Centre, and
two golf courses just west of the community, with several more further west along Highway 8.
Cross Country skiing and snowmobiling & 4-wheel driving are found a half hour west in Bragg Creek.
