The community, which includes the neighbourhoods of Willow Park, Acadia, Maple Ridge, Fairview, lies between Anderson Road and Glenmore Trail, and between the Deerfoot and Macleod Trails. The community is liked for its east-facing slopes (great morning sunshine) toward the parkland along the Bow River. On the west boundary is shoppers' paradise of Macleod Trail. These communities date back to the 1960s and 1970s and consist mostly of single family homes, with some semi-detached homes. Access to Deerfoot on the east makes downtown and the city's airport very quickly accessible. Glenmore Trail on the north boundary makes the mountains accessible by by-passing the core of the city. The community is close to four LRT stations close to Macleod Trail.
Schools
This area is mature and has a full range of schools right up to high school. The public library is on the east side of Southcentre Mall. The LRT makes the University of Calgary, SAIT and ACAD very accessible.
Shopping
The area is serviced by a couple of small malls along Fairmount Drive, which winds through the middle of the community. The larger malls are along Macleod Trail and include (from south to north): Southcentre Mall, Willow Park Village, Southport Centre, Macleod Mall, Macleod Plaza, Coop Shopping Centre, all between Anderson and Heritage. There are many stores, restaurants and services that are not part of a mall in the corridor. Further south on Macleod Trail area a number of "category killer" big box stores south of Fish Creek Park, to the north, across from Chinook Centre, are more such stores.
Recreation
The eastern boundary of the community makes the Bow River recreational pathways system accessible, with connections south to Fish Creek Provincial Park, or north toward the centre of town. Just north of Anderson Road is the Family Leisure Centre, a fully-equipped recreational facility which also includes a wave pool. North of Anderson are two golf clubs, Willow Park and Maple Ridge. There are several cinemas along MacLeod Trail including Canyon Meadows, Southland (note: Southcentre's cinema recently closed) and the new Famous Players Coliseum just south of Fish Creek.
Homes
The community is mostly single family homes in a range of styles, with the more expensive homes along the perimieter of the Willow Park Golf & Country Club.
