Edmonton, Alberta is nestled in the northern prairie, about 400 km east of the Rocky Mountains. Edmonton is a fascinating place to live or to visit, with two "downtowns", one on the north side, where business and government are located, and the other on the south side where the university and industry is. Both have plenty of attractions and plenty of shopping and dining.

The city is very modern, and much of the downtown was built since the 1974 Oil Boom. The population has also tripled since that time, and is now over a million residents. With many young people moving here from all over Canada, the restaurant, nightlife and cultural scene is quite vibrant.
