 Fredericton is justifiably proud of its excellent education and research facilities. From pre-school to advanced post-graduate studies, this is a city where one can access some of the finest education, training and research facilities in the country. 
Fredericton is home to the University of New Brunswick and St. Thomas University, which share a beautiful 47-acre campus overlooking the Saint John River. UNB's enrollment is approximately 8,000 full and part-time students. More than 500 students from more than 50 countries around the world attend UNB, here international exchange programs with universities around the world add a cosmopolitan flavour to the community. One in three students taking degree courses at UNB are older than 24 years of age.
St. Thomas is a small Catholic liberal arts university that welcomes students and faculty of all faiths and beliefs. It has invested its resources in a limited number of programmes, creating focused, intensive and comprehensive courses for its 2,400 students. It grants degrees in Arts (38 fields of study), Social Work, Journalism, Criminology, Education, Gerontology, Interdisciplinary Studies, Pre-Professional, and the only Co-op Arts programme in Atlantic Canada. The state-of-the-art campus has four residences, which accommodate over 600 students. One in every two entering students at St. Thomas University holds an entrance award, ranging in value from $500 to $38,000. (506) 452-7700 The New Brunswick Community College in Fredericton has 600 full-time and 1,500 part-time students and offers a variety of programs, including courses in Call Centre Training and Digital Communications. The New Brunswick College of Craft and Design, located in historic downtown Fredericton, offers three year diplomas of Craft and Design in one of its seven disciplines. including Clay, Creative Graphics, Fashion, Fabric Surface Design, Metal, Photography and Textiles. A Certificate of Native Art Studies is awarded following one year of specialized study in native arts and crafts.
