Open all year round. Summer hours are 10 am to 5 pm, or by prior arangement. Wheelchair Accessible. Schoolhouse available for private functions year round. Admission by Donation. Runchey's Tavern Historical Plaque Located on Regional Road 81 west of Seventeenth St. 905-562-5242 Fax: 905-562-7786 (Contact: Helen Booth) Robert Runchey, who served with was the British army during the American Revolution, was granted land here in 1791, and bought an inn here in 1802 renamed "Runchey's Tavern" which became a well-known coach stop and local landmark. During the war of 1812, Runchey served as an officer in the Lincoln militia, and was captain of a company of black volunteers from the Niagara peninsula. Runchey died in 1819, but his tavern building survived until the 1970's, when it was destroyed by fire, though its foundation, driveway and landscaping remain. Ball's Falls Conservation Area - Vineland This historical park has old cabins, a church, and flour & grist mills. A beautiful nature area with many trails. Picnic area.
