This region is part of Ontario's "Golden Horseshoe" industrial belt, but with the number of colleges and universities and the GO-Train access to nearby cities like Hamilton and Toronto, it is a popular "bedroom community." That means are residents may spend their workdays somewhere else, but want to eat & drink close to home. With the number of factories in the region, restaurateurs know good food (and nutrition) is important for the workers.

Halton's diners will find clusters of restaurants in different parts of the community. Both Oakville and Burlington have quaint historical business, shopping and restaurant district is in their downtown cores, as well as in Oakville's Bronte Village area.

Of course, if its fast food you are looking for, or those family-friendly and affordable casual dining chains, you'll find them in the typical suburban shopping areas, for example Adleshots's Palins Rd, Burlingtons' Fairview Street and Upper Middle Street, and Oakville's Trafalgar Rd (oh, so close, to the Sheridan College campus).
