Durham Region Transit is a regional organization which runs the buses. To use transit you must pay a fare with exact change, tickets, bought in books of ten, or show a monthly bus pass.
GO Train co- fares at regular fare + 65 cents. CNIB clients (with a current registered CNIB card) ride conventional DRT and GO Bus free of charge in Durham Region. The CNIB free fare does not apply to Specialized Services. Attendants pay full fare on conventional and Specialized Services. Full time Durham College, UOIT and Trent students have the U-Pass included in student tuition for travel on DRT Bus and GO Bus anywhere within Durham Region. Hours of Service Major bus routes run from 5:30am to 12:20am, with a daytime frequency every 20 -30 minutes. Some routes, serving industrial areas, operate only weekdays during morning and afternoon rush hours. Lost articles are returned to the West, Centre, East or North Customer Service Centres, depending on the area where the article was found. Often, lost article can be picked up the same day. Dogs and cats are not normally allowed on DRT buses. However, exceptions are made for working dogs (seeing eye, hearing and special assist dogs), dogs on a leash with muzzle and dogs or cats or other small animals confined in a pet transportation crate. Wearing inline skates or skateboarding on DRT buses is not allowed. Passengers will be asked to carry skates and roller blades in the hand rather than over the shoulder for safety reasons. Access for Persons with Limited Mobility Some of the buses and routes s have low floor buses that can "kneel" though not all stops can accommodate handicapped riders. Durham Region Transit (DRT) Specialized Services provides transportation for eligible disabled residents of Durham Region, with either a temporary or permanent eligibility. The Fares are $2.75 per trip, throughout Durham Region. One attendant may accompany a client, paying full fare, and should book their ride at the same time as the disabled passenger. The Co-Fare program allows customers connecting with GO Trains and GO Buses at Rouge Hill, Pickering, Ajax, Whitby and Oshawa GO Stations to use DRT for travel within the local service area at a reduced fare and is available in cash, 10 ride tickets and monthly Co-Fare passes. Customers must have a valid GO ticket or pass to use the DRT Co-Fare program. Co-Fare is not accepted on GO Bus.For example, Co-Fare is only valid for passengers traveling to / from the Oshawa GO Train station during times that DRT is servicing the train station. At all times a valid monthly GO pass or ticket must be shown to qualify for the Co-Fare. Passengers with GO Bus tickets, paying regular GO Bus fares, are not valid for transfer to DRT buses. LIMO Schedule Peterborough Transit
Peterborough Transit provides services 7 days per week and late evening services Monday through Saturday. Transit does not operate on December 25th, December 26th or January 1st.
Hours of Service
No service on the following holidays: Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Simcoe Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Boxing Day, New Years Day, Services to Trent University - provided 7 days a week during the normal school year from September through April. TRANSIT to the Memorial Center - get to the Festival of Trees, a Peterborough Pete's Game or the Farmers Market? Use one of these routes: Route 10 - Collison, Route 7 - Lansdowne West Customer Service & Information Trans-Cab Service Trans-Cab Service is provided in areas of the City not serviced by regular bus routes. From these areas, you can take a taxi to and from the nearest trans-cab stop for a $2.50 fixed rate that includes the taxi and the bus fare. Pay the cab driver. To Trans-Cab TO Downtown (if in an area served by Trans-Cab) call 748-4443 at least an hour before you would like to be at a bus stop. A taxi will come pick you up and bring you to the nearest stop, since all routes will bring you downtown. To Trans-Cab FROM Downtown, Board a Route 4,5,7,8 or 11 bus downtown and tell the driver you need a Trans-Cab and deposit the regular bus fare, plus the added Trans-Cab fare. The driver will give you a transfer and radio for a cab to meet you at the transfer point and drive you to your destination. Access for Persons with Limited Mobility All regular Peterborough Transit routes now have fully accessible buses. These buses are easy to get on and off because they have no steps and they have a ramp for wheelchair and scooter users. The regular routes that serve Trent University and Fleming College have accessible buses, but all of the express routes have older style buses with steps. Handi-Van Information The Handi-Van is a special transit service for people that cannot take the regular buses due to mobility impairments. The Handi-Vans are fully wheelchair accessible. The service is provided door to door on an appointment basis. You must be registered as a Handi-Van user before making a booking. Trips cost Regular Adult Fare All passengers requiring accessible buses should call 745-0525 shortly before their trip to make sure there is one on their route when needed. Bus servicing needs do arise and sometimes result in a bus with steps servicing a regular route. 40% of the fleet is now comprised of low floor, accessible buses. Operating Hours Monday - Friday 7:15 AM - 10:45 PM Saturday 7:15 AM - 10:15 PM Sunday 9:30 AM - 8:00 PM Booking Trips Call 745-5801 to book (up to a week in advance) or cancel a trip. Call Monday to Friday between 9 am. And 4pm. Persons who assist passengers may ride with them (they pay regular fare), and should book at the same time as the passenger.
