Gatineau Park boasts a cross-country ski trail network of 40 ski trails running for 200 km in the 356 square km park. These trails introduce you to the Park's forests, meadows, lakes and river valley,
and include eight heated rest shelters, with wood stoves. A park map depicts a network of easy, intermediate, and difficult trails that appeal to both beginner and experienced skiers.
The internationally famous "Gatineau 55" is an cross-country skiing competition using the same trails you usually ski.
Meech Lake, famous as a Parliamentary retreat, has challenging trails that lead into the heart of the ski network, including a fire tower with an exceptional view of the Ottawa Valley. The Ramparts are a ridge with interesting rock faces providing a scenic view of Meech Lake's countryside. Lac la Peche's wilderness area requires a compass and map.
