The Olympic-sized pool is open 365 days a year. The water flows from the rock at 300 gallons per minute at 114 degrees Fahrenheit (46 degrees Celsius). The pool is wheelchair accessible.

Playland

Go carts, bumper cars, 1\8 hole mini-golf, petting zoo and amusement park. Open 7 days a week, 10 am to dusk during the summer.

Fort Steele Heritage Park
(250-426-7352) This living museum includes more than 60 restored and reconstructed buildings. You can ride a steam train or enjoy a horse-drawn wagon ride.

Windermere Valley Museum
622-3rd St

Housed in a 1923 log and frame building (one of only 3 in Canada) that was the railway station until 1975. Showcases the First Nations people of the area in a settlement of a century ago. Exhibits include a Shuswap Band dugout canoe, a copy of David Thompson's journal, arrowheads, and a buffalo hide.

Canal Flats Provincial Park
North of town, east side of Columbia Lake)
This day-use park is popular with swimmers, boaters and windsurfers. Great views of the Rocky Mountains and Columbia Lake.

The Kinsmen Public Beach in Windermere
This sandy swimming beach with change rooms and playground is shaded by large willow trees and has grassy picnic areas and a summer concession stand.

Canadian Museum of Rail Travel (Cranbrook)
Downtown, on highway 93/95

This museum has restored and preserved the luxury cars of the 1929 Trans-Canada Limited, including dining, sleeping and solarium cars, with original CPR china. A model railway depicts 1900-era railway travel. Open daily 10 am --6 pm June 14 - Labour Day, noon-5 pm rest of year. Admission charge.

Mountain Biking
From leisurely to extreme, some of the most challenging mountain bike trails in the country.  Get Trail maps at Info Centres, or contact Nipika Mountain Bike Tours (250-342-9450)

Horseback Trail Riding Have Diamond B Outfitting (250-324-5128) or Horn Outfitters (250-347-6475) Now you can ride through the mountain trails the way the first explorers and settlers did.

Winter Fun Cross Country Skiing, using maps available at Visitor Information Centre. You can also visit Radium Resort (250-347-9311) Snowmobile Tours from Toby Creek Adventures (1-888-357-4449)
