Here is a quick summary of how to get involved with sports by yourself or with a group. Find out how to join a team or league, and make new friends!

Aerobics
Put on runners and shorts and head to one of the many aerobics clubs and gyms, including the "Y" locations or one of the Leisure Centres.

Baseball/Softball

Basketball
Basketball is a year-round sport. Try Saskatchewan Basketball Association (306) 780-9264

Bicycling
Ride on the region's many bike paths. There are biking areas set aside along the Wascana Creek and around Wascana Lake.

Bowling
Bowling with family or friends is fun at the dozen bowling lanes around town. Enquire to join league play!

Curling
Regina's indoor curling arenas offer this Olympic sport year-round. There are 14 curling rinks and clubs in the Lower Mainland. Contact Saskatchewan Curling Association at 306-374-7082

Diving
There are a number of world class diving facilities in the Regina area, which is home to the Mount Royal Diving Club (306-543-0092). Call Saskatchewan Diving/Plongeon at 780-9405 and Swim Saskatchewan at (306) 780-9291.

Fencing
Take a "stab" at the Olympic sport of swordsmanship! Call the Saskatchewan Sport Fencing Association at (306) 555-1212

Fishing
There are lots of good rivers and lakes to go fishing around Regina. Of course, there is very good fishing in the Canadian Shield in the northern part of the province.

Golf

Gymnastics

Hiking
Hiking takes you into the world of nature. This city offers near-nature jaunts along Wascana Centre, part of which includes a wildlife sanctuary. There are a number of natural areas close-by as well.

Hockey
Skates and a hockey stick is all you need to play hockey. Check with city rinks listing for ice times. There are several leagues: Saskatchewan Hockey Association at (306)789-5101 and the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League at 789-7702.

Horseback Riding
Saskatchewan is horse country. you can rent a horse or learn to ride at several ranches and stables around Regina . There are even some dude ranches for a total ranching experience. Serious riders can contact the Saskatchewan Horse Federation at (306) 780-9244, which sponsors a magazine and a number of events.

Ice skating
Regina offers ice skating year-round, plus winter-time outdoor rinks (city rinks listing). In the summer-time, cool of at the city's indoor rinks. Contact the Saskatchewan Figure Skating Association at (306) 975-0838, or the Saskatchewan Speedskating Association at (306) 780-9400

Martial Arts
Learn to defend yourself at over 20 studios, where they train in both the mental and physical skills in the martial arts. Check with the Saskatchewan Judo at (306) 975-0831 and Saskatchewan Karate at 555-1212. And the Global Tae Kwon Do Federation at 775-1805.

Rock Climbing
Rock climbing is so popular that several indoor climbing walls have opened up in the city. But you could also head to the mountains or the Cypress Hills.

Rollerskating
You can go inline blading on any of the city's bike paths. The flattest stretches are anywhere along the Wascana Creek, and around Wascana Lake.

Running, Track & Field
Run along any of this area's hundreds of miles of bike paths. Scenic runs are around Wascana lake, and along Wascana Creek. There are a number organized races, ranging from 1 mile to a triathlon, and several track & field meets each summer. Contact Saskatchewan Athletics at (306) 664-6744 .

Skiing, Cross-Country
