Local Information |
|
The Rocky Mountains are actually only 120 miles deep, from east to west.
Many people figure that they go all the way to the Pacific Ocean, but thatĚs not
true. The Rockies actually consist of four sets of ranges that extend from
Alberta's foothills to the Rocky Mountain Trench that includes the Columbia
Valley.

|
The Rocky Mountains area, covered by FoundLocally includes the boundary between the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia, and includes a number of national parks (regulated by Heritage Canada for the the Federal Government), as well as a number of incorproated municipalites and towns.
Because of government control over much of the area's parkland, locals take a strong and active role in all levels of government.
