Note to travellers: the region is bisected by the Central/Pacific Time Zones, with the transition being made (from points north to south) at the BC border west of Jasper, at the Roger's Pass between Golden & Revelstoke, and along Kootenay Lake west of Creston. The resort communities of the Columbia Valley share the same time zone as Banff & Calgary all year round.
