Silverspring is a residential neighbourhood in northeast Saskatoon, nestled between Central Avenue and the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Saskatoon Zoo and north of Attridge Drive.

This land was formerly administered by the University of Saskatchewan and annexed into Saskatoon in the late 1950s. Silverspring was built out over late 1980s into the 1990s. To the west of the community is the Regional Psychiatric Centre (hospital).

Schools

The community has a public elementary and Catholic elementary school, adjoining Silverspring Park. St Joseph (catholic) high school is just to the south, and public library is not far away. The community is a short commute to the University of Saskatchewan and the SIAST Kelsey Campus is across the river.

Shopping

The area's shopping is to the south along 115th Street E, at Kenderdine. The nearest large mall is the Centre at Circle & 8th to the south.

Recreation

The community is built adjacent to the 19 acre Silverspring Park and the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo to the east The Forest Farm has grown over 147 million trees planted across the prairies from 1916 to 1966 when the nursery became a city park. The Saskatoon Zoo is located within this park. The Saskatoon Natural Grasslands is a 34 acre preserve for endangered fescue and uncultivated grassland, and there is an interpretive centre with interpreters & nature programs provided by the Saskatoon Nature Society.

Silverspring is close to the Bridge City Speedway which holds various car racing events over the summer racing season.

This suburb is mostly low-density, single-family dwellings with an average dwelling value of $233,734 and a 99% home ownership rate.
