Aerobics
Put on runners and shorts and head to one of the many aerobics clubs and gyms, including the "Y".

Baseball/Softball
This summer, you can watch or play in a baseball game, in one of several leagues in the Sault Ste. Marie area.

Mountain biking is allowed on many of the trails in popular parks in the region.

Curling
Sault Ste. Marie offers this Olympic sport at a number of locations. The rinks and clubs in the Sault Ste. Marie area, provide the community with leagues, as well as inter-club play.

Diving
There are a few diving facilities in the Sault area. Contact the local Parks & Recreation department or local swimming

Fishing
Ontario in general is a terrific place to go fishing. With thousands of lakes in the province and hundreds in the Algoma Region, your sure to find something that fits your fishing needs.

Golf

Gymnastics
Gymnastics has a high media profile at the Olympics, and has the youngest entry (and retirement) ages.

Hiking
Hiking takes you into the world of nature. This city offers near-nature jaunts in the
Crystal Creek Conservation Area, the Fort Creek Conservation Area and along Red
Creek Road to the city's northwest. There are also many rustic landscapes of the area’s various provincial parks.

Sault offers ice skating year-round, plus winter-time outdoor rinks (city rinks listing). In the summer-time, cool of at the city's indoor

Martial Arts
Learn to defend yourself at a half-dozen studios, where they train in both the mental and physical skills in the martial

Mini-golf
Sault Ste. Marie has two places to putt around a mini-golf course: Great Northern Fun Park (Outdoor)-(705) 942-7275 and Wilderness Golf (Indoor)-(705) 541-0303.
Rock Climbing
Rock climbing is gaining in popularity. There are plenty of interesting rocks around town, though experienced climbers
either head north to the Agawa Canyon (which in wintertime has over forty waterfall ice routes.

Running, Track & Field
Run along any of this area’s hundreds of miles of paths. Scenic runs head through the area’s natural areas. There are several organized races over the summer, with a variety of distances, and several track & field meets each summer. Contact

Skiing, Cross-Country
Close to Sault Ste. Marie are several cross-country ski venues. When there’s snow on the ground, try any of the larger city and provincial parks. Contact the Heyden Ski Runners at 705-777-1010.

Skiing, Downhill
There are also a number of downhill ski hills in the city and surrounding area. They're not the Rockies, but they're as good as any within a few hundred miles. There are several close to Sault Ste. Marie. Contact the Soo Finnish Nordic Ski Club Ski Club (Tom Noland 949-3283).
