A must-do adventure while in Sault Ste. Marie. An exciting trip taking you into the heart of Canada's wilderness. In all, the train will take you 114 miles through Ontario's forest, impressive granite formations and picturesque lakes and rivers. The highlight of the trip is the two hour stop in magnificent Agawa Canyon. Here you can travel along nature trails leading to amazing lookouts of the canyon and waterfalls. The Tour operates in May and again in early-June to mid-October.

Batchwanana First Nations Annual Powwow

The annual powwow, held each year in mid-September is a ritual of social and spiritual value to the Anishinaabe people. Celebrations are held in on the Rankin Reserve behind the Rankin Arena on Gran Street.

Loon Monument at Echo Bay Loon Dollar Monument

The Loon Dollar (the "Loonie") was designed by local resident Robert Ralph Carmichael in 1987. The monument was built to scale with the help of the loonie's designer. There is a wheelchair accessible park and picnic area with flowers.

A great family outing. See numerous animals that are uncommon to the are such as yak, Jacob sheep, reindeer, ibex, llamas and wallabies. There are also a number off common species here and a petting area. The Zoo opens early April and stays open until winter comes. Hours open are daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the exception of Sunday which is open 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children.
