Travel Accommodation: Rules That Apply to RVs
Camping in a Recreational Vehicle ("RV") is popular, and enables you to add many modern conveniences to the fun of camping. Some RVs are simply a camper top on a pickup truck, but many RVs provide entirely self-contained living spaces, complete with bathrooms, kitchens, even TVs and Internet. We have information about choosing a campground, camping in Canada, and you can even search for a campground.
General rules to be in compliance across Canada (strictest province in brackets): trailer over 2000 lbs must have safety chains, trailer breaks and breakaway switch (BC), be 3.85 m high (AB), 2.6 m wide, and 2 vehicle length (2 vehicles) under 20 m (NS). You should always wear seatbelts, and have a child safety seat for kids under 50 pounds (Manitoba).
