Introduction
Sudbury Transit covers the Sudbury area and has about 35 buses covering 23 routes around the City of Sudbury. Transit service runs on most routes between 6:30 a.m. and 12:15 a.m. Monday through Saturday, with Sunday service from 10:15 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. The city offers a Smelter bus to Copper Cliff, with extra buses in the morning and afternoon "rush hour".

There are two fare levels: Adult/student fares and children/senior citizens.

You must pay bus fares with exact change, since the drivers do not carry change. To qualify for child fares, you must be under 5 feet tall. Students can buy a discounted monthly pass for $59. To qualify for senior’s fares you must buy a seniors pass for $20 (with proof of age).

Transfers
You will need a "transfer" if you need to use more than one bus to complete your trip, and are using cash or tickets as fare payment. Be sure to request the correct transfer as you board the bus:
Customer Service & Information
There are several services to help you use Sudbury Transit safely, effectively and efficiently. For schedules and recommended route information you may call (705) 675-3333 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, and from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday. A Sudbury Transit representative will tell (even mail you a map if you ask) the best route to take when you tell them your starting point and destination. Any concerns, suggestions or commendations regarding Sudbury Transit may be voiced by dialing the same number. The Transit Centre Kiosk is open Monday to Friday 7:30am to 7:30pm and Saturdays 9:00am to 4:00pm

Most of Sudbury’s buses use the new Transit Centre as a major transfer point (though you can transfer anywhere two lines meet). Greyhound will even drop you off here when arriving in Sudbury (its not far from their Notre Dame & King bus terminal).
Lost & Found
If you left or lost an item on a transit bus, you may call (705) 675-3333 during transit hours. A Sudbury Transit representative will help you. You can come to the transit centre, downtown at 9 Elm Street, to claim your items during office hours.

Access for Persons with Limited Mobility
Sudbury Transit has several low floor busses for those who are in wheelchairs and who have difficulty climbing stairs. Unique in design, low floor busses are equipped with retractable ramps. Sudbury Transit also integrates with the handy Transit system, though it is not run by the City.

TransCab Service
Sudbury Transit also offers a TransCab service in two communities, around Richard lake and around Long Lake, which connects to free taxi service. If you need taxi service at the end of the bus route, let the driver know, and a taxicab will be arranged to meet you. These community taxis are provided at no extra cost to the passenger.
