Vancouver is a major city with a wide range of educational institutions. Most famous of course are University of British Columbia on the City's west edge and Simon Fraser University atop Burnaby Mountain. There are also a number of technical and community colleges, inlcuding Kitsilano College in North Vancouver, Kwantlen Collegewith various campuses, Douglas College in New Westminster, BC Institute of Technology in Burnaby, Technical University. "UBC" has an enrolment of 35,000 students and is located on the University
Endowment lands on the western edge of Vancouver's peninsula, and surrounded by
Pacific Spirit Park. UBC is noted for excellent programs in forestry, fine
arts, petrochemicals, Asia-Pacific studies, and commerce & business adminitration.
UBC owns TRIUF, the world's largest cyclotron used for nuclear physics reesearch.
The University also participates in the Bamfield Marine Station on Vancouver

Simon Fraser University
"SFU" has 22,000 students on its beautiful, Arthur Erickson designed campus,
perched on the top of Burnaby Mountain with views of both the rest of the Lower
Mainland and the Burrard Inlet. Simon Fraser has five faculties, applied
sciences, arts, business adminstration, education, and science which operate
on a three-semester sytem. there is also a satellite campus in downtown

Technical University of BC "Tech BC" is Canad's newsest university and is located in Surrey, beside the Central SkyTrain station.
