Homes: Upper Lonsdale / North Lonsdale (North Vancouver)
Upper Lonsdale is the area on both sides of Lonsdale Avenue north of the Upper Levels Highway. Special neighbourhoods are "Historic North Lonsdale" and Marlborough Heights, which has some spectacular south & west views toward Vancouver. Shopping To the west, via Queens is shopping at the Westview Shopping Centre or in charming Edgemont Village. Lonsdale Avenue, below the Upper Levels Highway, ahs lots of shops and restaurants. Heading east, the Upper Levels Highway (Trans Canada Highway 1) takes shoppers quickly into the heart of Burnaby Metrotown shopping. Schools The area is served by four elementary schools (Braemar Elementary, Larson Elementary, Carisbrooke Elementary, with Ecole André Piolat with a French program) , a junior high school (Balmoral Junior Secondary ) and Carson Graham Secondary to the west or Argyle Senior Secondary to the east. Recreation The neighbourhood has a number of parks scattered around the neighbourhood. Just to the south is the Centennial Theatre and the indoor pool at the Harry Jenkins Rec Centre, and a lawn bowling club. Homes Varied housing is one its major characteristics. It is possible to find just about any style of house and lot size - a wide price range, too! There are some apartment buildings along Lonsdale Ave and a few townhomes as well. Lots have frontages ranging from 33 to 100 foot, and the neihghbourhood has everything from beautiful heritage homes and modern contemporaries to compact apartments. The area encompasses some large "character" homes and some newer construction. Many lots offer views of the Burrard Inlet and of downtown Vancouver. Price Range: $200,000 to $1,500,000.
