Victoria is a major city with a wide range of educational institutions. There
is of course the University of Victoria, the Lester B Pearson College and
Royal Roads University.
University of Victoria has been around since 1963, and offers a variety of degree programs. The area's mild year-found climate makes this a popular academic choice for the fitness-minded. It has 13,500 students on its Saanich/Oak Bay campus. (250) 721-2511. The Lester B Pearson College is located in Metchosin, and is one of seven United World Colleges. Named for the Nobel Peace Prize-winning Canadian prime minister, the college offers a 2-year International Baccalaureate program for 200 above-average students from more than 70 countries. Camosun College has two main campuses serving the Victoria area.
The Lansdowne campus and the Interurban campus (in Saanich) serve over 7,500 credit
students and 10,000 non-credit student. The college offers a wide range of programs.(250) 592-1556.
Royal Roads University is an innovative university offering market-driven
graduate and undergraduate programs for mid-career professionals. (250) 391-2550.
