The area's local (and most nature-oriented trail) is along the Galloping Goose Trail, on the paved bed of a former railway, which winds from Cordova Bay in the east through southern Saanich (with a leg south to Esquimalt's waterfront) and View Royal toward Sooke, and then northwards a few more kilometres..
