Pricing is seasonal. The summer is high season in Winnipeg. Fall through spring (September to June) are definitely the less expensive times to visit. Each hotel's dates for high, low, and shoulder seasons differ a bit so watch your timing or your hotel. Location Some hotel locations are better suited for different purposes it. You can search for hotels by "Area". For attending Football games and other sporting events, or when overnighting in Winnipeg before flying, the handiest hotels are those close to the airport. If you are here to do business you would likely want a hotel in the downtown core. All hotels are within walking distance of downtown shopping, and a short cab ride from the various restaurant and nightlife districts. There are some less expensive hotels just outside of downtown, including the Norwood Inn (just across the Red River) and the Osborne Village Motor Inn (in Osborne Village, across the Assiniboine River) For family power-shopping stay at hotels close to the Portage Avenue malls or along McPhillips Street Either location is full of the large chains and the "category killer" stores. If you are travelling north-south, then your best bet is probably one of the hotels in the South on Pembina Highway. There are AZ number of hotels clustered along major cross-streets, the Perimeter Highway, Bishop Grandin Boulevard, McGillivray Boulevard and Grant Avenue (from south to north). If you are driving across Canada (and don't wish to poke around Winnipeg), stay close to the TransCanada Highway and the Perimeter Highway along the south. In the southeast, there are several hotels/motels along Highway 1. In the southwest, there are several hotels on the southern stretch of Pembina Highway If you are trying to find something VERY NEAR your meeting, use the "Postal" feature in the Hotel Search screen, where we match the first the digits/characters of the postal code! This also works on our Restaurant search, to find a restaurant near your hotel (and in every other search form on our site).
