Milk River lies on the east side of the Milk River Ridge. Glacial meting after the last ice age, 10,000 years ago carved the Milk River valley and the hoodoos in it. The hoodoos are believed by natives to be inhabited by the spirits of the departed. Apparently this did not scare the First Nations peoples, as their campsites and many artifacts are found scattered around the hoodoos. The waters of the Milk River are the only waters in Canada that flow to the Gulf of Mexico via the Missouri-Mississippi River system.

Native rock art carved into the sandstone (Petroglyphs) and extraordinary hoodoo formations are found in the park. Extensive summer interpretive programs. Open Victoria Day to Labour Day, daily 9 am to 7 pm. Admission.
