Restaurants in the province run the gamut from rustic to "diner" to haute decor, with the most choices in Halifax's downtown, but with plenty more eateries in Bedford, Sackville and Dartmouth. If you are touring the province, whether on bike or by car, time your trips into towns for the mealtimes.

Seafood Cuisine When you're in the Maritimes you've got to try the local seafood. Shellfish, lobster, and of course seafood are the local specialties. Even the local McDonald's serves lobster! Halifax has a number of top establishments, including the Five Fishermen , McKelvie's, the recently opened Little Fish Restaurant., or the great views at MacAskill's on Alderney Drive in Dartmouth.
