walking and the greens are bent grass. There is a good mix of holes with
two par 3's; two par 5's and five par 4's with both left and right doglegs in play.

The Ashburn Golf Club has two 18 hole courses that combine convenience, variety and challenge.
The old course with its undulating fairways within the city of Halifax, was designed by the noted Canadian golf architect Stanley Thompson and opened in 1922.
The "new course" opened in 1970. It is nestled in a wooded area overlooking beautiful Kinsac Lake in Fall River. Designed by Geoffrey Cornish, it features large tees, fully watered fairways and manicured greens.
Ashburn's new course was rated among the ten best courses in Canada in 1989.

Close to Peggy's Cove, you'll find this green haven cut into the rugged bush and granite rock,
providing a picturesque course with 200 acres of rolling green hills,
stands of evergreens, maple and birch trees, dotted with 26 spring fed ponds.

This course by the sea was established in 1962 and famous for its windy conditions.
One of the toughest tests of golf in the Maritimes, the front nine holes are cut
through a forested area, but the back nine holes are of a links style, mostly open area and treeless.
There is an abundance of wildlife make it popular with bird watchers.

A tree-planting program in the mid-eighties and recent green reconstruction have
changed the original character of the course. The signature hole #13, is named
"Waterloo" and most of its 138 yards is water, and home to a family or two of geese.
