Transportation: Halifax's Airport, YHZ
The Halifax International Airport offers tours as a community service, designed primarily for of youth in the community, though tours are also available for groups of the not-so-young. Tours of the Airport are by volunteers only on Tuesdays, from mid-September to mid-June (excluding peak seasonal periods). Parking Halifax International Airport provides long-term parking on open air surface lots, security patrolled 24-hours a day. Long Term Parking lot at the terminal will cost you $3 per hour (or part thereof) up to of $12.00 per day. The remote Park'N'Fly lot is $9 per day, to a maximum of $45 per week (7 day period). Metered parking accepts quarters (twenty-five cent pieces) as well as loonies and toonies (one and two dollar coins). Metered Parking rates are 60 minutes for $2.25. Change-making machines are located just inside the South and Center Tunnel entrances. These prices include all applicable taxes. Transportation From the airport, the best way into town is by taxi, which are available curbside in the Domestic Arrivals area for all arriving flights. A one-way trip to Halifax city center is $43.00 (Canadian) by taxi and $53.00 (Canadian) by limousine. AirBus shuttle service to and from various hotels in the Metro Area s provided by Zincks Bus Company (902-873-2091). 21 daily departures, starting at 5 am (first bus leaves city for airport) and 6 am (first bus leaves airport for city) until 23:15. Regular fares are $16.00 (Canadian)each way. Children under 10 years, accompanied by an adult, ride for free. Acadian Lines (902-454-9321) provides province-wide bus service from Halifax International Airport with several departures daily for Sydney, Annapolis Valley, Yarmouth, Truro and even Prince Edward Island. You can also rent-a-car (cost varies). If you are planning to stay in Halifax itself, everything is close together and a short walk from the core.
