First settled in the early 1800s, Mississauga was both a farming and industrial centre in the "Golden Horseshoe" Mississauga grew up along the shores of Lake Ontario, and has some beautiful shoreline parks, while away from the Lake, Peel Region has several wonderful Conservation Areas with unusual natural features.
