Farmland in the northern Okanagan Okanagan is in the Interior of British Columbia, sitting on a high mountain plateau. It has a warm dry climate, which is moderated by two large lakes: Lake Okanagan in the South and Shuswap Lake in the north. The area has been settled by Natives for thousands of years, and has recently become Canada's "fruitbasket."
