(NC)-A new survey by Metamucil and Ipsos Reid reveals that in general, men have a tendency to have their cholesterol checked more often than women. In the past year alone, 60 per cent of all male respondents have had their cholesterol level checked, while only 52 per cent of women passed the same test. This is despite the fact that 51 per cent of women know their family has a history of high cholesterol, heart disease, heart attacks and stroke, compared to only 40 per cent of men. Regular exercise, a low-fat diet, and adding a fibre supplement such as Metamucil powders or capsules, plus calcium, can help lower mild to elevated cholesterol levels.
