One of the many roadside ponds,covered with lilies This town offers the most northerly access to Algonquin Provincial Park. It is accessed from Highway 17 (the Trans-Canada) about 40 km east of North Bay, and 20 km west of Mattawa), and then 29 km south on Regional Road 630. Along the way, you’ll pass the Eau Claire Gorge Conservation area, which has hiking trails, a lookout, rapids and a scenic waterfall.
