Introduction When using the Thunder Bay Transit you'll be able to go pretty much anywhere in the city. Thunder Bay has a fleet of 49 buses traveling 14 routes, they run from 6 am midnight (see online schedules & route maps). Most stops will have a bus every 30 minutes, major routes every 15 minutes There are two fare levels for monthly passes: adult and discount fares. You must pay bus fares with exact change, since the drivers do not carry change. Children 8 and under are free when accompanied by an adult. Those qualified for discount passes are students under 19, seniors over 65, children ages 9 - 12, and handicapped persons with valid disabled ID card..

Transfers You will need a "transfer" if you need to use more than one bus to complete your trip, and are using cash or tickets as fare payment. Be sure to request the correct transfer as you board the bus. Customer Service & Information There's transit information 24 hours, 7 days a week, to find bus, scheduled stops and fare information phone (807) 684-3744. There are also operators available on weekdays from 8:30 am to 4 pm. Access for Persons with Limited Mobility Half of the city buses are fully accessible making it easier for the elderly and ones with disabilities.
